MUMBAI, DECEMBER 19, 2009: There was a sense of joy and excitement in the air at St. Joseph’s High School, Wadala to welcome the Provincial, Fr. Michael Fernandes. The students of St. Joseph's Wadala were eager to meet this special visitor and looked forward to spend time with him. The students of the Primary and the Secondary Section assembled on the school playground for the morning assembly. The backdrop on the dais emphasized the vision of Don Bosco. ONE MAN-ONE DREAM-DISTANT LANDS emphasized how one man could make a difference in the world through sheer devotion and dedication.
Fr. Provincial was escorted to the dais by the Rector, Fr. Aloysius Furtado and the Principal, Fr. Bernard Fernandes. After the welcome song, Fr. Bernard introduced Fr. Provincial to the staff and students. He praised him for the qualities of the heart he possessed which helps him to communicate well with people.
Thereafter Fr. Provincial addressed the gathering and thanked the Management, staff and students for the warm welcome. He congratulated the school for securing cent percent result in the SSC results and the school setting a benchmark in sports and co curricular activities. Through a short story Fr Provincial advised all the students to bury the words-I CAN'T and replace them with words like I'LL TRY, I CAN and IT IS POSSIBLE.
In the interaction that followed between Fr. Provincial and the staff Fr. Provincial stressed on the Habits of a good teacher which help foster the special talents of the children. The teachers will surely benefit through these habits there by strengthening the relationship between the teacher and the student.
