PUNE, JUNE 8, 2010: The young theologians had a wonderful four day training programme in Salesian Youth Spirituality (SYS) in Don Bosco Youth Centre, Pune from June 4 to June 7, 2010. The programme was conducted by the vice provincial Fr. Ajoy Fernandes, Fr. Glenn Lowe and Fr. Issac Arackaparambil. On the first day Fr.Glenn initiated the brothers into the dynamics of Salesian Youth Spirituality. He encouraged the brothers to be first thinkers, then doers in the whole process of animating the youngsters in the Salesian Youth Spirituality. The brothers were invited to boldly promote the Bosco Youth Groups (BYG) in the various parishes they go for Sunday apostolate.
The afternoon session was bubbling with scores of creative sessions, stimulators and value based games conducted by Fr. Glenn. The brothers learnt the nitty-gritty of animating the youngsters creatively in the Salesian way. The next day Fr. Issac showed how to take sessions based on the anthropological model of Salesian Youth Spirituality using human experiences as their starting point. Later on the brothers educed some relevant themes catering to the needs of parish youth.
After a day of intense preparation and group work, each group presented their well prepared sessions based on the Salesian Youth Spirituality themes. The sessions included topics related to family, hope, corruption and time management. The brothers were asked to polish their sessions and submit all their resources for further use in future. The four days were filled with the Salesian spirit and the young Salesians were infused with the Salesian Youth Spirituality.
