BIS #2073 DON BOSCO VISITS US

Loreen Fernandes

VIRAR, OCTOBER 5, 2010: The parishioners of the Resurrection Church, Virar, were privileged to welcome the Regional, Fr. Maria Arokiam, accompanied by Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas, on his extra-ordinary visit to our parish on Saturday, October 2, 2010.

Fr. Arokiam planted a sapling in the presence of the catechism children to drive home the message of the need for ecological preservation.

The liturgy, most beautifully and meaningfully animated by little children dwelt on the theme of “faith”. In his inspiring homily, punctuated with humorous anecdotes, Fr. Arokiam stressed that God is continually working miracles in our lives, but we, with our finite understanding demand spectacular evidence.

Fr. Arokiam complimented the parishioners for their hard work in building a faith-filled community. He praised the catechism children for animating the Eucharist and the children’s choir, including the child playing the keyboard.

He later addressed the Salesian Cooperators and exhorted them to carry the Salesian spirit to their work places. He also met the PPC members and explained to them that the laity is an integral part of the parish.

Dear Fr. Arokiam and Fr. Vinod, we thank you for your visit and assure you or our prayerful support. We will always cherish your message to preserve a green earth
