NASHIK, FEBRUARY 3, 2011: Don Bosco, Parish, Nashik, celebrated their Parish Feast and Feast of their Patron Saint on January 30. The novena was well attended by many religious and faithful. V. Rev. Fr. Michael Mascarenhas, sdb, from the Konkan Province, Ex-Provincial Economer of both Mumbai and Konkan Provinces was present for the solemn Eucharistic Celebration.
Fr. Michael spoke in detail about Don Bosco Nashik. The forty acres plot was bought by Fr. Rubio in 1964. It was a plot where rice was to be planted, to provide for the boarders of Don Bosco Matunga. But since nothing was growing on that land it remained unused till 1973. There were several attempts to sell off the plot. It was only in 1973, as Provincial Economer that Fr. Michel visited the plot, looked for the files and the documents and through much effort and regular visits; he saved the big plot of land.

Fr. Michael also made time to visit Dominic Savio, Satpur and to celebrate the Eucharist in Marathi for the faithful there.
