MATUNGA: August 19, 2011: The Annual Administrators' Meeting for the administrators of the Salesian houses of the Mumbai Province took place on August 19, 2011 in the Provincial House Seminar Hall. The resource person for the one-day seminar was the Mr. Brijesh R Shah , CA, from Anand (Gujarat). A total number of 49 administrators, which included eleven religious sisters too, participated in the seminar which dwelt on some key and pertinent topics related to finance and administration, namely, FCRA 2010; DTC(direct tax code); general office management and documentation; good governance and NGO.
Mr. Brijesh Shah’s inputs and suggestions were very well received. They were extremely well prepared and touched upon very pertinent topics and delivered with the mastery and ease of a thorough professional ! What also aided the active involvement and participation of the participants were his well prepared hand-outs and a powerpoint presentation which was interspersed with simple and practical examples drawn from his rich experience.
Fr. Xavier Devdas, on behalf of the administrators thanked the organisers, namely, the Provincial Fr. Michael Fernandes, the Provincial Economer Fr. Elson Barretto, and the Provincial Secretary Fr. Ivan Rodrigues for making this meeting a useful and enlightening one and especially for making simple some current government legislations and documents relevant to finance and administration.
The meeting concluded with some useful tips on waste management with effective micro-organisms by Fr. Xavier Devdas and Fr. Damien Sladen.
