BIS #2570 CATALYSTS OF OUR DREAMS-WADALA

WADALA, SEPTEMBER 9, 2011:
One of the most awaited and cherished events at St. Joseph’s – for that matter any school- is the Teachers' Day.  The students of std. X along with their class teachers, and some meticulous planning, ensured that the program was a success.

The entire school –classrooms, staff rooms, offices, school hall - was decorated with balloons, ribbons and posters. It gave a semblance of the carnival atmosphere a la Brazil!

Every class teacher together with two or more members of the teaching/non teaching staff were felicitated and entertained in the classrooms through special programs prepared by the respective class students.  A welcome break of snacks – sponsored by our PTA members – for the staff members followed the class programs. Thereafter a well orchestrated entertainment program awaited the entire staff in the school hall.

The primary boys tapped their feet to some popular Hindi tracks while the students of Std. IX, known for their dance skills, got the audience too to sing along! The widely appreciated ’Josephites' Fashion Show then followed wherein the dashing students of Std. V and VI, sporting their best outfits, regaled the audience by walking down the ramp like true professionals.  A couple of dance items by students of Std. VII & VIII, and Std. X were up next.  The highlight of the show was a short musical prepared and performed by our talented bunch of Std. X students.

It must be said that every item presented had a message to go with it.  It was a resounding ‘yes’ to all that the teachers have given us through their teaching and sacrifice.  A smile that showed on the face of every staff member at the end of the show was proof enough of an entertaining yet meaningful program, and for us students it was an occasion worth the effort.

A sumptuous lunch and a get together awaited the staff members at Copper Chimney, Worli.  And who can grudge them that!  They deserve all that and much more – our love, respect and admiration.
