NERUL, FEBRUARY 18, 2012: Dominic Savio Kindergarten celebrated its Sixth Annual Day on February 10, 2012. The programme started at 5.30pm with a Prayer Dance by students of the Prep-A.
The Chief Guest Dr. Anjali Parasnis, Head, Western Region, TERI addressed the audience. The Guest of Honour Shri. Namdev Rama Bhagat gave away prizes for the academic year 2010-2011.
The theme of the Annual Day was 'EDUCATION DOWN THE AGES IN INDIA'. The students of Prep-C presented a skit on the 'GURUKUL' system of Education.
Sanskrit was the early language of education. Students of Prep- B performed a dance on a Sanskrit song 'DEEPDANAM.'
Encouraging education of girls and the onset of Hindi Language was portrayed by students of Pre-Prep-A through a 'MEDLEY OF HINDI SONGS.'
The arrival of missionaries introduced the English Language. A dance on English Song 'BUMBLE BEE' was presented by students of Pre-Prep-B.
Over the years early education gained a new meaning. Formal school was started at three years of age. And the best way to teach at this age is through rhymes. Students of PLAY-GROUP-A presented a rhyme on 'GALAXY,' PLAY-GROUP-B on 'SEASONS' and PLAY-GROUP-C on 'ANIMALS'.
The advent of foreign languages into the present curriculum was portrayed through 'ARABIC DANCE' by students of Pre-Prep C.
The programme concluded with a 'VOTE OF THANKS' by the principal Rev.Fr. Anthony Fonseca.
