HOME LINK / MISSING CHILD SEARCH TRAINING PROGRAM

MATUNGA-MUMBAI, SEPTEMBER 28, 2012: Don Bosco National Forum for the Young at Risk (YaR) organized a three days training program at Mumbai Hub from 25 to 27 September, 2012 to teach and to train about the HLK/MSC software. Fr. Joe Prabu, the National Director of HLK/MCS and Mr. Austin Francis, the National Deployment Coordinator were the main animators of the program. They instructed and trained the participants of different NGOs with clarifying doubts and quarries. It was a learning experience for the participants.
Fr. Roger Jones, the Mumbai Hub Director invited the different organization. There were participants from many organizations. The representative of the organization are all from Mumbai Hub – Maria Ashiana (Lonavla), Bal Prafulta (Andheri), BECC (Bandra), Salam Balak (Kalyan), Snehalaya (Vadodara), Jeevodaya (Itarsi), Shelter Don Bosco (Wadala). All three days were planned well with sessions and Hands on the Software in computer lab.
The first day started with a prayer by Fr. Joe Prabu invoking the presence of God for entire training program. Fr. Ajoy Fernandes, the Vice Provincial of Mumbai Province, graced the occasion and inaugurated the training program. In his speech he spoke about the importance of documentation in each organization and also highlighted the need of the ‘Home Link’ software. Fr. Joe Prabu then welcomed each organization and commenced a keynote address about the training program.
For all the three days, there was a theory and practical session by the animators. Fr. Joe Prabu spoke about the Documentation of YaR / HLK Networking Centres, Customization process, Child Movement in the Organization, Service and Follow up of the child, main components and features in Home Link, Report Generations, Missing Child Search, Communication Protocol and Deployment Strategies.
Mr. Austin used the computer to the full to show us practically all the entries in the software. He used his tech-support to teach the participants. Each and every individual got the chance to work on the computer to browse and learn the software and the documentation to the full.
The Last day of the training was the best to learn the website and all the details of the website. Many queries were solved by the animators to the training program. Mr. Austin helped all the participants to focus on their work and allowed them to access the internet to browse the website. He also taught everyone how to use the Team viewer to rectify any problem online.
The training program concluded before Lunch and it was a good experience to learn about the documentation in various organizations.
Fr. Joe Prabu thanked all the participants for showing their interest, Fr. Roger Jones for seeing to the logistic of the program along with the Shelter Don Bosco Staff.
Fr. Roger Jones then concluded the whole program with mementos to each participants.
