KURLA-MUMBAI, JULY 26, 2013: The most recent occasion at St. Joseph's Industrial Training Institute was on the 6th of July, 2013 when two hundred and thirty students, including four young ladies, surrounded by their mentors and companions gathered in the Santino Mondini Hall to bid farewell to the Salesian Fathers, teachers and their companions.
The 'Thanksgiving Day' was ably organized by the junior students with a good mix of entertainment by way of songs, dance and on an occasion like this expressions of gratitude and praise. Fr. Colbert da Silva the executive director encouraged the students to gain their independence through a high level of performance in their work place. He reminded them to keep the values they had learned of being good citizens. He expressed the hope that with the training received at St. Joseph's the students would do well for themselves in the industry and thus provide for their families.
Several students expressed themselves and dwelt on the impact this institution has made on their lives. Right from the good infrastructure, the facilities, a curriculum that provided a holistic development to the pedagogy used by the instructors all through their training, the students felt there was a transformation for the better in their lives and it made them truly grateful. While they referred to SJITI as "The Temple of Knowledge" they were nostalgic when they said that the Institute would always have a special place in their hearts.
The Principal, Mr. Amarr Prabhu expressed his happiness that the batch had begun with two hundred and thirty five and that 98.72% had completed the course. He wished the students well and hoped they would make the institution proud with 100% results.
The day came to close with loud cheers for the management and staff and of course the tapping of feet to lively music as students and instructors bid a fond goodbye to each other.
