BORIVLI-MUMBAI, SEPTEMBER 24, 2013: With the gates of hundreds of career avenues open to the young minds of today, it has become virtually impossible for these minds to be focused on "The one" choice for them. It is generally observed that towards the fag end of their school life, most of the students are confused as to what stream of education they intend to pursue post S.S.C. It is truly a great predicament.
The same plight was observed in the students of Don Bosco High school as well. It is indeed the far-sightedness of the Principal, Rev. Fr. George Carlos, who, having studied the scenario; put forth the suggestion of having a career guidance talk for the high school boys of the 9th, 10th and FYJC. Fortunately, this suggestion was instantaneously implemented. The school was lucky to have Mr. Ryan D'souza, a successful lawyer, who very spontaneously took the students through an introductory session on career goals. He familiarized the various streams available and also threw some light on the scope of different professions available ahead.
However, this is just the beginning. Confidently, there will be weekly session for the student conducted by different resource persons from various fields elaborately explaining the pros and the cons of their field. Helping the students make better career choices in the near future.
