BIS # 4005 SING , SHOUT AND CLAP HANDS

NORTH ARABIAN VICARIATE, JUNE 26, 2014: A Gospel Music Concert was organized by the Salmiya Parish Youth (SPY) on June 20, 2014. The concert ever since its inception as an idea, bided to exhibit the hidden talents of parishioners. The event commenced amid enthusiasm fueled by the vivacious comperes: Lloyd D'Souza and Shayne Nair.

Likewise, the occasion was graced by the presence of the Parish Priest and Rector of the Salesian community, Fr. Blany Pinto sdb, and the Spiritual Director of the Salmiya Parish Youth, Fr. Lionel Braganza. Among the guests were Fr. Francis Khajria, Fr. Franco Pereira, and Fr. Constantine and Fr. Clive who were the visiting priests from the Konkan Province of the Salesians in India. In his welcome address, Fr. Blany lauded the efforts put together in organizing an event of such magnitude. Moreover, he also appreciated the participation of the parishioners. Likewise, Fr. Lionel voiced his youthful and joyous experiences of spiritually nourishing the youth of the parish for a commendable decade.
 
Subsequently, the participants took the stage and thrilled the audience. In a matter of time, the audience was overwhelmed by the talent of the participants from the age of four all the way to the age of 65. The Solo and Duet performers were as mel
odious as nightingales, captivating the ears of everyone present. The choirs, charismatic and creative as ever, displayed a whole new technique of vibrancy, instigating the parishioners to Sing, Shout, Jump and Praise the Lord. Finally, the performances of the bands baffled the audience by their professionalism and talent. A guest band 'Apostles Creed' was invited and they performed an exuberating show entailing everyone present to truly 'Sing, Praise and Worship Him'.

A vote of thanks was delivered by the core organizing team. All in all, the objective of the concert was achieved – the talents of the budding stars of our parish were showcased. It inspired many among the audience to whisper the 'concert' should be organized henceforth every year.
