BIS # 4267 ANNUAL SPORTS DAY OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY AT NERUL

NERUL-MUMBAI, DECEMBER 5, 2014: The 9th Annual Athletic Meet for the academic year 2014-15 was held on November 29, 2014 on the school ground. The Sports Day commenced with great enthusiasm with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Mr. Arvind Shinde, executive officer NMMC and the Guest of Honour Mr Ram Krishna Kedia L.R.S, Director of Income Tax, Ministry of Finance and Government of India. Mrs. Vivena Rodrigues introduced the dignitaries to the audience followed by the felicitation with bouquets.

Later, the Chief Guest hoisted the School flag after which the assembly sang the by the School Anthem. The Guest of Honour, Mr. Ram Krishna Kedia lit the sports torch for the traditional torch run which was taken up by our champions in sports. The Annual Athletic Meet was declared open by the respected Chief Guest, Mr. Arvind Shinde. The march past by the four houses was led by the melodious and energetic School band, Scouts and Guide and RSP cadets. The march exhibited discipline and hardcore practice of the students.

Our Sports Captain Liza Gard administered the Oath to the House captains and the participants which was followed by the Sportsman Prayer to invoke God's blessing. To enliven the Sports Meet, the students of the Primary section put up colourful and vibrant display of various sports like Kabbadi, Cricket, Basketball and Chess.  The students of class V displayed the human pyramids followed by Gymnastics and Mallakambh. These displays were a perfect example of discipline, team spirit and dedication which are the weapons of every sportsman's armoury.

The confidence of the athletes was boosted by a motivational speech by our Chief Guest. As a token of our love and respect, the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were presented with mementos. The much awaited part of the Sports meet began with the track events for the students of group A, B, C, D and E. The winners of various track events were given medals and certificates by our Honourable Chief Guest and our Principal Fr. Anthony Fonseca. The overall championship trophy was bagged by Blue House.
The event came to a successful end with the vote of thanks, proposed by the principal leaving thrilling memories in the hearts of each and everyone present there.
