MUMBAI, JUN 13, 2016: Two separate training sessions were organised for the teachers of seven Salesian schools at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School and Junior College, Nerul and at Don Bosco High School and 
Junior College, Borivli on June 9, to enhance the teaching skills of every Salesian Educator.
The participating schools were Don Bosco High School, Matunga, Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Borivli, Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Naigaon, Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Lonavla, Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul, St. Dominic Savio High School, Andheri and St. Joseph's High School, Wadala.
Over 200 teachers from the secondary section and junior colleges attended the seminar on 'Co-operative Learning' conducted by Dr. Denzil Martins, principal of Nirmala Institute of Education, Goa. They were introduced to six structures of co – operative learning to make the teaching-learning process more interactive. Emphasis was laid on teaching children how to think and not what to think.
Through activities, teachers were shown how students could grasp the content and finish the portion way before its stipulated time; all this was possible within a classroom setting and by implementing the structures of co – operative learning. 
160 teachers from the primary section met at Don Bosco High School and Junior College. They were part of the session on 'Making learning a joyful experience', conducted by Carolyn Fernandes, an educational consultant and her team.
A series of activities were conducted to show the teachers how different subjects could be co-related in order to make learning a joyful experience. The teachers found creativity as a window to convey knowledge and values to the children.
The seminars enabled the teachers to enhance their skills as educators and become effective facilitators in the teaching-learning process. The principals of the participating schools – Father Crispino D'Souza, Father Bernard Fernandes, Father Donald Fernandez, Father Flovi D'souza, Father Godfrey D'Sa, Father Glen Fernandes and Father Rixon Nigrel – made the seminars possible.
