MUMBAI, OCT 1, 2018: Fifteen boys from Bosco Boys Home (BBH) in Borivli were invited for an educational and outreach activity at Thakur College of Engineering and Technology, Kandivli (TCET) on September 28.

The college council was responsible for organising the event through which they could reach out to the boys of Bosco Boys Home and give them an opportunity and a platform to gain knowledge in a range of engineering fields such as mechanical, telecommunications, electronics, digital, and automobile engineering.

Volunteers of Thakur College took the youth on an educative tour through a range of departments. The boys took down notes while professors addressed them. Professor Iqbal Murgavkar, head of department –mechanical engineering,  shared his knowledge with the boys on his field of expertise.

The boys were then taken to the telecommunication centre, where Professor Archana Despande addressed them about the functioning and engineering that goes into producing a television. "Communication is the key to unlock your life if you want to excel and join this field. You need to commit yourselves in studies and work hard towards your goal," she said.

The youth gained valuable insight from their visit to the campus. "Many things attracted me in the visit. I also aspire to become an engineer one day and for this, I will work very hard," Prince Chavda, a boy from BBH, said.
