BIS #5664 ST. JOSEPH'S INDUSTRIAL TRAINING INSTITUTE MAKES HISTORY

MUMBAI, OCT 10, 2018: Saif Ali Khan, a St. Joseph's Industrial Training Institute (S.J.I.T.I.) student from the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning batch of 2017-18, made history for the Institute by winning the bronze medal at the World Skills Competition of India held in New Delhi on October 6.

Khan qualified for the finals by winning the Maharashtra state level competition. He then entered the regional competition held at Jaipur, where he competed against participants from other states Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh.

He triumphed once again and made it to the India Skills National Competition in New Delhi, where 400 participants from 27 states exhibited their finesse in 45 different skills like beauty therapy, car painting, carpentry, cooking, welding. 164 participants were given medals in their corresponding skill categories. 

Anand Kumar Hegde, Minister of State, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship emphasised the significance of the accomplishment at the felicitation ceremony. Khan was awarded a bronze medal, certificate and cash prize of Rupees 50,000.
