VADODARA, NOV 30, 2018: During his visit to Don Bosco High School (DBHS) in Vadodara on November 26, Father Godfrey D'Souza, the Provincial of the Mumbai province, witnessed first-hand an array of infrastructural initiatives that have been undertaken by the management of the institution.
He began his visit by attending the general school assembly accompanied by Father Anthony Pinto, the Rector and Principal of DBHS. Father Dominic Martis, the administrator, Father Isaac Arackaparambil, the parish priest and Father John Samala were also present.
Father Pinto welcomed the Provincial and assured him of unending support on behalf of the management, staff, and students. A felicitation programme followed with skits on hope and compassion and a cultural dance presented by the students.
Father D'Souza was then informed of the major infrastructural developments that have taken place recently. They include solar panels being installed as part of the school's green initiative.
Major upgrades of hardware and software have also been undertaken in the computer lab. The audio-visual hall has been refurbished to facilitate activity-based learning. A counselor’s room has been erected to cater to the mental and emotional well-being of the students.
Father D'Souza then addressed the gathering and congratulated the staff and students for showcasing an excellent programme. Appreciating the good habit of segregating waste, he asked the students to inculcate the habit of neatness and cleanliness. He also assured each one of his prayers to make good and correct choices and to reach out in compassion.
The Provincial was then taken for a guided tour in the school to visit the classrooms, AV Hall, computer labs, and counselor room. The coordinators of the school also met Father Provincial and discussed general issues related to students. A final session with all the teaching and non-teaching staff was held in the AV hall where Father Provincial addressed all on Don Bosco’s Preventive System of Education.
