SUKET, MAY 23, 2019: Sixty participants from five districts of Madhya Pradesh - including six teachers from Suket, Rajasthan – attended an English camp themed 'Hope In Hop Out!’ at Don Bosco Alirajpur from April 12 to May 17.
The camp was a collaborated effort which was led by Brother Chris Ferreira along with three other religious- a Salesian and two SSPS Sisters, 12 volunteers and 20 standard eight mentors. The camp helped teach young adivasi children to read, write and speak in English. It also served as a selection camp for some children to join the School of Excellence and Don Bosco Academy - Alirajpur.
The camp consisted of regular classes in subjects specialising in English and Mathematics. Every week the students were prepared for a weekly test which helped gauge their effort. Being a ‘Bosco Camp’ it also had weekly competitions, a spelling bee contest – the first of its kind in these camps, swimming, drawing, drama, singing, lighting tournaments, football coaching, and other fun activities.
The camp was truly a school, a church, a house and a playground for the campers, just like how Don Bosco’s charism flowered.
