Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra (BGVK) Ahmednagar, organized a Christmas -cum-Annual Day programme for 798 student beneficiaries of the ‘Village Education Project’. The beneficiaries, all children of poor farmers participated in the daylong programme on 22 December 2019, supported by Kindermissionswerk of Aachen, Germany.
Father Rolvin D’Mello, Executive Director-Don Bosco Development Society was the Chief Guest, and in his address thanked Kindermissionswerk for their support, placing on record his sincere thanks to all the Children Carol Singers in Germany for their help in raising funds for this project. Vishwas Sonawale, Associate–Tata Power Community Development Trust; and Anna Motte, Sarpanch Shanjapur were the other dignitaries present.
The children were treated to a mesmerising Magic Show for over an hour, with surprise spot prizes, followed by a sumptuous lunch.
Post-lunch, a cultural extravaganza celebrating the diversity of India with traditional, contemporary and folk dances dealt with significant social themes. The celebration concluded with each child receiving a small gift and photo session.
Father George D’Abreo, Director–BGVK thanked Kindermissionswerk and Don Bosco Mission for the continued support, not only for this programme but also for sponsoring the entire project. He also thanked all the teachers who contributed their mite to teach these children daily.
