SAVEDI, JUNE 11, 2008: Eighteen teams participated in the Don Bosco Cricket League organized by the Don Bosco Youth Group of Rosary Mata Church, Jeur from June 1 to 8, 2008. The tournament began with a prayer led by Fr Bento D’Souza and the blessing of the newly prepared cricket pitch. The cricket extravaganza ended with the finals on June 8, between Ya Maulana and Imampur teams. The prizes were distributed by the Parish Priest Fr William Falcao. The first prize of Rs. 2001 which was won by the Ya Maulana Team was donated by Fr William Falcao; the second prize of Rs. 1001, given to Imampur Team was donated jointly by Harbal traders and Don Bosco Youth Group, Jeur; while the third prize of Rs. 701 which went to Chapewadi Team, was donated by Kadam Marketing. Over a hundred youth from the surrounding villages were spectators at this cricketing event.
