CHHOTA UDEPUR, JULY 29, 2008: The recently revived Past Pupils’ Movement in Gujarat has indeed been making rapid progress. The second meeting of the past pupils was held at Chhota Udepur on Sunday, July 27. The turnout was commendable with 43 former students being present for the meeting. Based on the suggestion made at the previous meeting, a room cum office has been set aside in the institution exclusively for the alumni. Some of the practical details discussed at this meeting included issuing identity cards to all members, opening a bank account for the Unit and joining the confederation of past pupils. More important, however, was the discussion on concrete ways in which the alumni can be of assistance to the younger generation, especially the disadvantaged youth in the villages who lack, both, opportunities and guidance. These issues need to be further pondered upon and a definite action plan will have to be chalked out. A noteworthy feature of the meeting was the presence of many young past pupils who brought much enthusiasm with them.
