JYOTI, AUGUST 4, 2008: The parishioners of Our Lady of Light Parish came together on August 3 to celebrate two special occasions: Parents' Day and Friendship Day. The little children of the parish sang a beautiful ‘thank you song’ to express their gratitude to their parents. As a token of their love, the children gifted their parents cards that they had made themselves, roses and a big hug. During the ‘exchange of peace’ each family came together and the children offered a sweet to their parents to say thanks for all they are doing for them. Fr. Gregory D’Cunha in his homily emphasised the important role that parents play in the lives of their children. He appreciated the fact that the parents instil good values in their children and also do not let them get into bad company. The parents too thanked their children for making the day such a memorable one. After the mass all ‘good friends’ came together to pledge their friendship for one another by tying a wrist band and saying, ‘I shall be your friend forever.’
