VIRAR, AUGUST 5, 2008: The Vianney Sunday celebrations in the Resurrection Parish commenced with the Eucharist at 7.30 pm on Saturday, August 3. A representative, on behalf of the parishioners, thanked the priests of the parish for their pastoral service. Our Parish Priest Fr. Blany Pinto was appreciated for his virtues of gentleness, warmth and humility, while our recently appointed Assistant Parish Priest, Fr. Edwin Colaco was commended for his infectious enthusiasm and dynamism. Flowers were presented to both the priests as a token of our gratitude and appreciation. Fr. Blany thanked the parishioners for their constant support and requested us to pray for all the priests in different parishes. The Parish Council met on Sunday August 4, for the monthly meeting. The meeting began with cake and coffee, and a game of housie which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The priests were than presented with a gift. Fr. Blany and Fr. Edwin individually expressed their gratitude to the members and said they experienced great warmth, acceptance and generosity from their parishioners. A delicious buffet prepared by the council members and their families served as a fitting conclusion to the celebrations.
