NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 1, 2008: The National Commission of the Don Bosco Tech India Network held its annual meeting at Don Bosco Provincial House, New Delhi on November 29-30. The National Core Team of the Network and Province Technical Commission Heads from all the ten Salesian Provinces of India participated in this two day meet. Fr. A M Jose, National Convenor, welcomed the participants to the meeting and then went on to speak about the highlights and progress the Network has made in this past year.  He was appreciative of the role played by the 123 partner institutions of DB Tech India and emphasized that this Network is now recognized as one of the biggest providers of Skills Training in the country.

Most of the first day was spent in evaluating and discussing the status of the national project that has been taken up by DB Tech India. This project focuses on facility upgradation, curricula standardization and capacity enhancement of training personnel. Each province presented a report on the progress of this project within their respective provinces. Other allied issues were also discussed. The second issue taken up was the planning of the proposed National Convention to be held at Delhi in early March. The day concluded with the members doing an assessment of the impact the Network has had on individual partner institutions.

On the morning of the second day, the entire Technical Commission of the Delhi Province joined the meeting. The Commission presented a detailed report on the working of all the Skills Training Centres in the Delhi Province.  In the afternoon, the finalization of the statutes of the Network was taken up for discussion.  The statutes will now be presented to the SPCSA for approval.
