Mayank Parmar sdb NARUKOT, FEBRUARY 10, 2008: In the recently held ‘Don Bosco Gujarat Region Football Tournament’, Don Bosco Narukot once again proved its prowess in this game. The tournament was held at Jyoti Bhavan, Jhabua, and all the Don Bosco centres participated in this exciting event. In their first game, the Narukot boys defeated Kawant in a thrilling match. Next, they had to face Snehalaya, Baroda, and here too they proved their s
uperiority. The finals were held on February 8, in which the highly motivated Narukot boys took on the invincible Chhota Udepur team. The fiercely fought first half of the game ended goalless. A few minutes after the second half began, Rangesh Diwaliya shot a spectacular goal, putting Narukot in the lead. The determined Chhota Udepur players made every effort to shoot an equalizer, but were unable to penetrate the insuperable Narukot defence. Towards the end of the match, Gurucharan Rohidas scored another brilliant goal for Narukot, thus sealing their victory. The jubilant team received a hero’s welcome when they got back to Narukot. Veteran football enthusiast Fr. Byron D’Silva, Rector, was all smiles as he warmly shook hands with the players and congratulated them for doing Narukot proud. As you can guess, the celebrations are still on, with Narukot happily relishing its victory!
