ANS News ROME, MAY 17, 2009: The Department for Social Communication is making a fresh appeal to the creativity of the Salesian world for the renovation of the sdb.org site. Planned for the first half of December, the new site will be another contribution to the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Salesian Congregation, and above all a response and adaptation to the new demands of the world of web 2.0. Those who use the sdb.org are being requested to make a contribution through their own creativity to the design of the new site. “"In this first stage we are happy to receive as many ideas as possible", Fr Julian Fox, Site Coordinator said, "and once we have them and have checked them out, we will try to integrate them and make use of them." The new site, which in fact will be much more than a simple “make-over”, will maintain the structure and the large quantity of data collected. At present it has over 25,000 pages. With the name “Project Conversion”, this is a first step in the direction of the interactive situation which it is hoped to develop with those using the site. Suggestions should be sent in before May 31, 2009.
