AHMEDNAGAR, AUGUST 10, 2009: On Friday, August 7, 27 wannabe cooperators met in the Audio visual Room of Don Bosco Community College, Ahmednagar for their first session on "Belonging to the Salesian Family" as a committed member. Fr Elias Dias was the trainer who introduced them to the "first baby steps" needed in becoming a fully participating member in the Salesian Cooperators Movement. The ground was prepared and the field cleared of all misconceptions and apprehension that were present in the mind of those who gathered in free question and answer search. In two hours the 27 felt relaxed about accepting the new gift of the spirit to the adults of the Parish. The seed is now sown. In time, it will bear fruit. This is our hope and this is our prayer.
On August 9, 2009, Frs. Anton, Prakash, Rosario and Bento were surprised by a special treat at the Sunday Eucharist when the parishioners rallied together to celebrate Vianney Sunday. A rite of welcome with diyas, kumkum and flowers was prepared by the women of the place. The traditional word of God was broken by Mrs. Padgarmal after Communion who spoke on the Cure de Ars and his spirituality as well as expressed the gratitude of the faithful towards their pastors. After the Eucharist, gifts were given to the four priests and visiting cleric, Bro Rickson and bouquets given to mark the appreciation held for Priests. The Parish Priest thanked the people of God for their tokens of affection.
