NASHIK, AUGUST 14, 2009: After regular church attendance and rigorous catechesis by lay catechism teachers and the parish priest himself, sixteen adults received the sacrament of baptism on August 12, 2009 at Satpur, Nashik. Those who belonged to a different faith had to prepare an affidavit affirming that they are receiving baptism knowingly, willingly, freely and without any force or compulsion. This is a type of a direct evangelization or one may call it new evangelization. This is a sign and a symbol of new people wanting to believe in Christ and his Church. This is a sign of hope.
Those baptised are grateful to Fr. Nelson Falcao, the parish priest, who has guided them during their catechetical training and journey towards Christ and to all the catechetical teachers who have helped in teaching prayers and catechism to these adults.
