MUMBAI, SEPTEMBER 1, 2009: The beginning of the new week was indeed a remarkable one as the U-16 football team of St. Joseph's played their Pri-Quarter Final match against Jai Hind College (Churchgate) in the Subroto Mukherjee Cup (District School Organisation) at Don Bosco School grounds, Matunga, on Monday, August 31, 2009.
During the 50 minute game Johnson Isaac broke the deadlock by putting St Joseph's forward with his well directed freekick from just a yard in front of the half line. St. Joseph's lead was cemented with a sensational penalty by Johnson again. The unwavering captain, Stallon Sebastian, showed quick feet to create a chance for himself and scored the final goal. Thus St. Joseph's won the match 3-0. St. Joseph’s had gained momentum by defeating Adarsh English High school with a jaw dropping score 6-0 on Saturday August 30, 2009.
