DBCL, Kurla through the auspices of DBDS, Mumbai has joined hands with Grohe-Germany, the world’s leading single-brand manufacturer and supplier of sanitary fittings, holding roughly eight percent of the world market and a recognized global trendsetter for sanitary products and systems in quality, technology and design, to specifically cater to school dropouts in terms of employability in the plumbing and sanitation trade for high-end as well as mass requirements.
This tripartite collaborative venture with the slogan “Enjoy Life, Enjoy Water, Enjoy Friendship” is a training facility with the objective of providing trained manpower for all areas of harnessing, storing, conveying, controlling, treatment and reuse of water, besides creating a knowledge base on the varied aspects that concern water.
The project over a five year period will focus on developing technology for creating new water bodies, replenishing ground water sources, water harvesting, while analyzing existing systems for efficient transportation of water, designing energy efficient systems, optimizing the use of valves and other fittings in piping systems, designing energy efficient fittings, developing efficient methods for water utilization, products for treatment and recycling of waste water while engaging in water audits.
This venture is seen as a landmark first step in ensuring Human Development and sustainable Social Engineering whereby the most vital natural resource “water” can be better managed in an integrated manner and made easily accessible for all sections of society. “Water, water everywhere… but not a drop to drink” is precisely what Don Bosco – Grohe aim to fix…!!
