BORIVLI, NOVEMBER 15, 2009: Blue House Preparations were in full swing as they geared together to celebrate Blue House week and celebrate Gandhi’s life and works at Don Bosco High School, Borivli , Gandhi being the Hero and Role Model of Blue House.
The House teachers and students decided to adopt Gandhijis philosophies and spread his thoughts throughout the week beginning November 9, 2009 till November 13, 2009. Accordingly the entire school campus had charts on preserving the Environment and included messages on save our Animals, Save Plants, and Save Trees. The House Teachers wore badges and also distributed the same to all the staff members who sported these badges highlighting these messages as they continued teaching in the class. This was a very effective way of sensitizing the young students towards the cause of Saving the Environment and making this Earth a better place to live in.
Various Charts ...Quotations...Skits...Question-Answer session, PowerPoint presentations were prepared and showcased highlighting Gandhijis values of Love for all Religion, Dignity of Labour, Peace and Non Violence. These values are relevant more so in this day when corruption is rampant and farmers are committing suicide in various parts of the country and it is at these moments when Gandhijis values remind us that we need to achieve freedom from the shackles of poverty and corruption. The road to freedom is a continuous process and the simple values and philosophies of Gandhiji are our strength in these difficult moments.
The Blue House Brigade comprising of the House teachers and the students thus paid a rich tribute to their Leader fondly called as Mahatma Gandhi.
