BIS #1634 DON BOSCO NERUL 'ESCAPES'

NERUL, NOVEMBER 19, 2009: Ever since the principal Fr. Anthony Fonseca made the announcement that the Children's Day would be celebrated with a picnic for the whole school, the corridors of Don Bosco School, Nerul were agog with excitement and anticipated glee! It was a first in the annals of the school for the entire school to go for an outing. The principal, the teaching staff, the non-teaching staff and the children - all were there.

Dressed in their Sports T-shirts the children were seated in buses, eagerly waiting for the go-ahead command of the principal. The picnic spot selected for this year was "The Great Escape" Water Park, some distance away from Vasai. The picnic spot is suitably named since it provides for much relished escape from the city's turmoil. The setting and scenic beauty of the spot were charming indeed.

The picnickers reached the spot by about 9.30am. Throughout the day they enjoyed an array of delicacies and spent time at the water sports area. The place was alive with loud music for the benefit of the rain dancers. The slides were an attraction for the daring. At the end of the day reluctantly all made their way back to the buses. As if to sweeten the departure, a cup of ice ream was served. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day for the whole school and a much deserved break indeed!
