BORIVLI, NOVEMBER 19, 2009: The week long Jawaharlal Nehru (green) House festival ended with the much awaited Children’s Day celebrations at the primary section of Don Bosco High School, Borivli. The excitement was tremendous among Teachers and Children . Throughout the week the children were briefed with the sketches on the life history of their patron leader the walls of the primary section were decorated with pictures charts and sayings of their green house leader. Green being the colour of progress and growth, little potted plants dotted the corridors of the section. The green house mistresses Mrs. Rupali Walwaikar, Mrs. Sheron Menezes and Mrs. Mary Rumao put in efforts to make children think green , to be eco friendly , conserving energy and keep contributing in every little way towards our environment. There were various drawing competitions held during the week.

On the November 13, 2009 the finale of the festival each teacher decorated her classroom to make the children feel happy and welcomed. they were greeted with lively music, entertained with games and surprise prizes. The biggest event of the day was the Magic Show conducted by Fr. Roger. He did keep the boys excited with all of his magical tricks.

The visit of the Provincial Rev. Fr. Michael Fernandes was an added excitement for the school. on the whole the programme ended well with each boy receiving a chocolate from the super visor Mrs. Marina D’Souza.

It is rightly said, ” Children bring joy to the old, a smile to the young and sensitiveness to the mother’s heart.”
