NARUKOT, NOVEMBER 19, 2009: Gujarat State Football Tournament for boys under 14 was organized by the commissioner of youth and cultural affairs, Gandhinagar and Piloo Modi (Don Bosco) High School at Narukot from November 13- 15, 2009.
The Tournament began with a bang in presence of Chief Guest Mr. Ramesh Rathwa (President of District Panchayat), Representative of Mr. Ramsinh Rathwa (MP of Chottaudepur Constituency) and Jasodha Baria (President of Jambhugoda Panchayat), Kishore Kaka (Journalist), Mayang Desai (Sarpanch of Jambhugoda Panchayat), Nawalsingh Nayak(Sarpanch of Narukot Panchayat), Vishnu Baria (Depty. Sarpanch of Narukot Panchayat) and other local leaders. The Chief Guests were welcomed with a colorful tribal dance.
“Don Bosco School is a pride for not only Jambhugoda Taluka but also for entire Panchmahal district and entire State of Gujarat” said the Chief Guest in his prominent speech admiring the efforts Don Bosco School has made in the field of Sports. Mr. Ramsinh, the MP in his message praised the work Don Bosco has done in various institutions in Gujarat especially among the tribals. Mr. Kishore Kaka declared openly that Don Bosco was one of the best schools in all the activities in the whole District also protecting the ecology and natural habitat.
On the first day, the cutthroat competition among the twenty-seven district teams from all over Gujarat began in proving their supremacy. There were 560 participants together with the managers, coaches, referees and the staff of Sports Authority of Gujarat. Mr. Ramesh Vasava, the convener in charge of the tournament expressed his complete satisfaction in the arrangements provided and thanked the management for the excellent organization. Many parents and various leaders got to exchange their views.
The management is grateful for the arrangement of boarding, lodging and organization, which were taken care of by the dedicated staff of the school, the Technical School and the Village Staff. It was a day of enjoyment and excitement.
