MUMBAI, DECEMBER 21, 2009: Responding to the Call of the Baptist, Don Bosco Youth Services, Mumbai organized a recollection on Sunday, December 20, 2009 for the young people of the neighboring parishes in preparation for Christmas. Eighty youngsters participated in the half-day JORDAN CALL that included Praise and Worship, Input sessions, Adoration, Carol Singing, Confessions and a Solemn High Mass.
Praise and Worship led by Mr. Ronnie Gomes and his choir created the right ambient for a recollection. Fr. Glenford Lowe then invited the young people to reflect on the Theme “We want to see Jesus”. He stressed on five points: Take time to create a ‘Sacred space within’ as opposed to ‘there was no room for him’, be vigilant to be ‘guided by a Star’ in the darkness on one’s life, Discover the real ‘Child Jesus and Mary’, Gift oneself with the Christmas Mysteries of ‘Joy, Peace and Love’ and finally be prepared to change course by ‘Going the Other Way’ to be responsible and active Christians.
Fr. Brian Moras prepared the young people to encounter the God of Love in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The availability of many priests and the ambience created by the adoration that followed gave the young people an opportunity to make straight the path.
At the Eucharistic Celebration, Fr. Elson took the youth through the pages of the Bible where young people desired to see Jesus and how they were not embarrassed to be seen and signaled out by Jesus too.
Jordan Call is an annual recollection for the Youth during the Advent Season. At the end of the day the youth felt that this was their best preparation for Christmas.
