MUMBAI, JANUARY 15, 2010: The New Year at St. Joseph’s High School, Wadala brought in cheers as the St. Joseph's “A” team walked away with the Lifebuoy Trophy at the Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA). In the finals St. Joseph’s A team emerged victorious, beating Dr. Radhakrishnan High School Powai 20-5 at the MSSA ground at Azad Maidan on Saturday, January 9, 2010.
In the forty minute game, Viraj Mehta (6 goals), Joel Lobo ( 2) , Stallon Sebastion ( 5 ) Jigar Dedhia ( 7) were the goal scores, while goal keeper Zenon Aglem stole the show with the commendable performance under the bar with magnificent saves.
The celebrations doubled as St. Joseph's “B” team won the third place in the MSSA Handball finals by defeating Pawar Public School (Powai) 6-5.
