Mumbai June 1,2010: Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 19:14)
We believe that these children will be the future of the church and of the nation. Our main aim in hosting such an event was to bring the kids closer to God using different ways and techniques so that they grow spiritually and in the process also enjoy themselves.
The most awaited programme by kids- The “U in JESUS” camp commenced on May 1, 2010 at St. John Bosco Parish, Borivli, under the guidance of Fr. Allwyn and his team of volunteers and the prayer group members.
Everyday’s session included Praise & Worship, action songs, animated Gospel videos, dramatics, outdoor games. A visit to Ashadeep (a home for children), tele-matches, a picnic and a variety of other programs also formed part of the month long program. Each day concluded with the recitation of the Rosary at the Grotto followed by the Eucharist.
On May 24, 2010 we had Valedictory Function where the parents also were present. Every child received some gift and a memento. The entire month provided an enjoyable learning experience both for the children and also for the team of youthful organisers. Like Don Bosco let us continue to place ourselves under the guidance of Our Lady, the Help of Christians.
