BHINGAR, JUNE 30, 2010: On June 18 St. John’s Parish started its novena in honour of St. John the Baptist. There was Triduum celebrated inviting Fr. Thomas D’costa, Fr. Ajit Munis and Fr. Blaise fernandes from the neighbouring Salesian communities.
On June 27, 2010, St. John’s Church, Bhingar celebrated the feast with a great pomp. The celebration began with the procession followed by the Eucharistic celebration. So goes the tradition of the church that every year newly ordained are called here for the feast. Therefore, the principal celebrant was newly ordained Fr. Royal D’abreo, the homilist was newly ordained Jesuit Fr. Peter Khandagale.
There was a lot of solemnity and colour in the celebration as the church sanctuary was renovated under the inspiration and artistic expertise of the newly appointed Parish Priest Fr. Michael Bansode; his painstaking efforts were seen in the whole church. After the Eucharist there was felicitation of the newly arrived of all the fathers and sisters in Ahmednagar. There was also a short entertainment program. Even the rain god was still and did not pour down on the occasion. Thus the whole celebration ended on a happy and sweet note as the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) and the Parish Councilors contributed generously towards the snacks. May the fervor and the zeal of St. John the Baptist increase in our lives.
