BIS #1926 DON BOSCO VIDHYALAYA SAVEDI CELEBRATES WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

SAVEDI, JULY 16, 2010: Don Bosco Vidhyalaya Savedi kept date with the World Environment Day on July 13. The school organized a seminar and a tree plantation drive to celebrate the event. The Human Resource manager of Crompton Greaves and the local forest officer were invited as chief guest and speakers for the seminar and the plantation drive.

Mr. Joseph the HR manager, in his speech, highlighted the importance of nature in sustaining life. He stressed that a healthy environment resulted in a healthy life. Mr. Jadhav, the forest officer regaled the audience with his knowledge of medicinal plants and how they help cure common ailments.

The seminar was followed by the tree plantation drive. The guests planted a sapling each and inaugurated the drive. The Parish Social Developmental cell was instrumental in procuring the saplings from the local municipal corporation. The celebration of the World Environment Day has helped motivate the students to promote and care for Mother Nature.
