MATUNGA, JULY 31, 2010: Amidst hectic schedule and busy time-table comes a short refreshing break for all our brothers in practical training. The two day practical trainees meet was organized in the Mumbai provincial house, Matunga by Rev. Fr. Ajoy Fernandes sdb, the vice-provincial of the Mumbai province.
There were twenty seven clerics and one lay brother who attended the meeting. Rev. Fr. Provincial, Fr. Michael Fernandes sdb, welcomed the gathering and shared few tips to make our practical training a learning experience. The purpose of this meeting was not only to provide a short break for our brothers but it was an occasion of coming together and sharing our varied experiences.
The sharing session was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Ashley Miranda sdb, the councilor for formation. Part of the two day meet also included a short visit to Don Bosco Kurla where the rector of the institute, Rev. Fr. Adolf Futardo sdb, conducted an inspirational prayer service which instilled in all the brothers the message that it is not enough to dream big but we ought to pursue hard in making our dream a reality. The visit ended with a luscious meal.
On the second day the brothers had a crash course on print media, mainly with regard to the style of writing various types of articles. This session was conducted by Rev. Fr. Joaquim Fernandes sdb and Mr. Don Monterio. The day ended with a short introductory session on vocation promotion and Salesian Youth Movement wherein Frs. Brian and Glen invited every brother to be an animating nucleus amidst the youngsters especially those entrusted to their care.
