BIS #1947 DB NARUKOT SNATCHES A 12-0 VICTORY

NARUKOT, AUGUST 2, 2010: On July 23, the district level tournament for under fourteen, was organized on the fresh green grounds of Don Bosco Narukot, Gujarat. The school falls under the Panchamahal district and besides the Don Bosco School Narukot, the school named Amrut Vidhyalay, from Kalol also participated in the tournament.
Amrut Vidhyalay, Kalol participated with lot of enthusiasm in order to win over Don Bosco School, Narukot. The match started at 10.00am in the midst of light showers, as if trying to cool the heated situation which had arose among the players. Because, as per the records, Don Bosco School, Narukot has always been victorious on the District level.
Both the teams started of with an excellent game but soon the morale’s of the Kalol team broke down after witnessing the first goal scored by the tribal student master Mukesh Lalsingh of Don Bosco School in the fifth minute. Eventually, the tribal students, both with their stamina and skill, went on scoring until the coach of the defendant team asked to stop the game five minutes before the actual time. The match resulted into 12-0 victory for the Salesian school. Nilesh Bariya scored the highest of all, six goals.

On July 24, the same district level tournament was organized for under sixteen boys. The same schools participated. The difference was only that the same under fourteen team of Don Bosco, Narukot played against the new giants of the Amrut Vidhyalay, Kalol team. The school of Don Bosco, Narukot ultimately won over them with the 8-0 result.

The district officer, Mr. Katara awarded the students with a certificate and congratulated for their magnificent victory. The Rector, Fr. Stanny Ferreira, also encouraged the boys with his presence and advisory inputs in the half-time. The principal, Fr. Jerome Mendonza was seen standing on the outside line and encouraging his team in the strategy part of the game. Adding to it, the school students too had come down together with their teachers to help their colleagues to play a better game. The boys got the feel of a family support. Thanks to the family spirit of the Don Bosco spirituality.

The coach of Don Bosco School Narukot, Cl. Placidus was also given a big appraisal for his hard work, strategy and most importantly for training his team in such a short time. The coach together with his team and management is looking forward for many such great victories especially in the forthcoming state level matches, in which the team is already selected.
