DIVYADAAN, AUGUST 19, 2010: On August 16, 2010 after participating in the Holy Eucharist on the occasion of Don Bosco’s birthday, the brothers and Fathers of Divyadaan were out for a one-day picnic to Anjineri, the birth place of Hanuman.
The S.T. bus in which the brothers travelled consisted of only brothers and so they were able to have fun singing songs and enjoying each other’s company. After alighting from the bus, the brothers had to walk seven kms to reach their desired destination. On the way they encountered hungry monkeys trying to grab food bags, crabs in the water and different types of wild flowers along the side. The path on which they treaded was not steady yet the beauty of nature and the lovely atmosphere compelled one and all to carry on the climb. The brothers also helped a few of them who were afraid of heights to climb on by constant encouragement and physical support at steep ledges. After having made a darshan at the temple of Hanuman the brothers went ahead to circumvent the area and thus enjoyed the beauty of nature. After spending some time at the summit they descended down in order to have lunch. The sharing of the sumptuous lunch helped the brothers regain their energy and foster the bond of fellowship amongst themselves. What followed was the gelling of the community through an animated housie. Tea commenced and then the brothers returned home.

This one-day outing was not just a mountain climbing expedition but was an enriching experience in appreciating the marvels of nature. The brothers not only enjoyed themselves but also the togetherness of the community in each other’s company.
