WADALA, SEPTEMBER 15, 2010: St. Joseph’s tasted sweet victory yet again, this time in football. The heroic performance of the under-16 football team who defeated Utpal Sanghvi, Juhu 3-1 via the tie-breaker in the finals, helped the school lift the trophy and clinch the u-16 Division II title in the inter-school football tournament organized by the MSSA at Azad Maidan on Thursday September 9, 2010.

It was once again Zenon Sydney Aglem’s goal-keeping prowess that took his team to victory and eventually the title. The final headed into the penalty shoot-out after the scores at the regulation time remained tied at 1-1. The fifteen year old Aglem dedicated the triumph to his team-mates and also to the tireless efforts of his coaches Mr. Jesus D’Sa and Mr. Avinash Gracious.
Joyous victory was evident on the faces of the champs as they received their trophy. The school is indeed proud of their achievement as they now brace themselves for greater challenges in the top flight Division I during the next season.

There would have been an add-on to this victory had the under-14 football team won their match in the finals of the DSO tournament. The Josephites went down fighting to Don Bosco, Matunga in that match at Azad Maidan on September 10, 2010.
