CHHOTAUDEPUR, OCTOBER 20, 2010: The Soccer World Cup fever is still not off the air. This time the U-17 team took part in the state level matches on October 14 at ST. Xavier's Bhiloda about 231 kms from here. Unfortunately they were told that the new had changed and that no XI and XII std boys could take part, this was because total neglect and lethargy on the part of the district officials in informing about the change in rules. Anyway our boys did not lie low but decided to play with nine players that qualified for the age instead the usual eleven, in spite of discouragement and boos of the remaining twenty four teams that took part.
In spite of playing with only nine to a eleven challenge, for all the matches Don Bosco Chhota beat their opponents for five matches till they reached the finals, it was only due to injury of the right forwards who could not be replaced that they turned to be runners up. Although they stood second among all the twenty four teams we are proud that this achievement shows their valour and never say die attitude. Beating five teams consecutively in one day only shows how determined they were. This is football with a difference can we say Chak de Chhota too.
