BIS #2113 ENCOURAGING THE YOUTH

BORIVLI, OCTOBER 29, 2010: True to the ideals of our parish patron St. John Bosco the Bombay Catholic Sabha (BCS) Unit, focused on encouragement and proper upbringing of the youth in their area regardless of caste or creed. They presented awards to SSC toppers of seventeen schools. Awards were given to HSC toppers and students up to PHD of the parish They were given certificates of merit and a back pack bag as a token of appreciation for their hard work. The students and parents all appreciated the recognition given and expressed their gratitude, saying that no other organization felicitates outsiders during their functions.

During their last AGM, they had presented a special award of ‘Model Youth’ to an upcoming and promising youngster who had excelled not only in studies but also in the socio and economic fields. They also gave a ‘Promising Business Woman’ an award to encourage entrepreneurship among women. Two prominent priests Fr. Warner D’Souza and Fr. Alwyn Misquitta were also felicitated for their contribution to society and parishes. The MHB Police Chief of our area was also recognized for his support to us Catholics during communal disturbances. It is no wonder that this Unit received the Best Unit Award in the category of Units between seven and fourteen years old. The Unit Chairman is Felix Aranha and Secretary is Angela D’Souza. Adv. Raphael D’Souza is the newly elected Vice President of the BCS at the Centre
