NASHIK, DECEMBER 1, 2010: The Nashik Diocesan Altar Server’s Rally witnessed a total of three hundred and twenty five alter servers from eight parishes of the Diocese, viz., Don Bosco Nashik, St. Anne’s Cathedral, Don Bosco Savedi, Beed, Godegaon, Kopargaon, Jnanmata and St. Patrick’s Devlali participate. Travelling from the different parts of the diocese the young children and teenagers were all enthusiastic for the grand gathering.
The rally began with the solemn Eucharistic celebration presided by the newly elected Bishop, Rt. Rev. Lourdes Daniel. The liturgy was well-animated by Divyadaan brothers and the children from Pumkin school, Ahmednagar raised their voices and sang loudly the praises of the King of kings. After the Eucharistic banquet, Bishop Lourdes Daniel declared the Altar Server’s Rally open. The release of the balloons and the doves captured the attention of one and all.
A session on altar serving was then conducted by Cl. Michael Gaikwad in which he helped the children come to know the ‘right ways of altar serving’. Fr. Robert Pen then conducted a session on realizing one’s vocation in life and responding to God’s call wholeheartedly.
After an appetizing and delicious lunch, exciting, entertaining and enjoyable games made the ambient lively and vivacious. The Quiz competition created much cheer and delight later.
Fr. Anton D’Souza, the main organizer and co-coordinator of the event, brought the event to a close by thanking the various people and especially the community and brothers of Divyadaan who made this event a possibility. At the end of it all, one could truly say, “God is great and HE indeed has a predilective love for his young children.”
