ANDHERI, DECEMBER 4, 2010: The Past Pupils of the St. Dominic Savio High School, Andheri had organized an Annual Rink Football Tournament on November 20 & November 21, 2010. There were sixty four teams who had registered for the Annual Rink Tournament.
The Chief Guest for the opening ceremony was Fr. Crispino D'Souza, the Principal of St. Dominic Savio High School. He congratulated the Past Pupils for organizing this mega event and wished them all the best and declared: 'Let the Games Begin." On stage with Fr. Crispino were also Fr. Godfrey D'Souza the Director of the Institute and Fr. Edwin Colaco the Delegate of the Past Pupils.
The tournament organized with the support of all our generous sponsors was an exciting event with lots of fun and fantastic play by the participants.
In the last match of the day played at 3:30 pm, both teams were made up of some Rink Soccer super stars. The match easily the best of the day was played at a very furious pace bordering on the rough at times. The match ended 4-1 with the Kalina Village Boys winning the Finals.
Sheldon Sharma won the Best Player Award.
All good things come to an end and so was it with the Rink Football Tournament. The Past Pupils did a fantastic job of organizing this mega event and getting sixty four teams to participate. Congratulations to Fr. Edwin Colaco, Roshan Fernandes and all the Past Pupils who spent many evenings seeing to the organizing of this event to every detail.
