DIVYADAAN, MARCH 4, 2011: The Community of Divyadaan bid farewell to the final year brothers of the BPh and MPh and to Fr. Aloysius Hemrom in an evening filled with fun, frolic and prayer. This was the last major event for the community this year. The evening was marked out to felicitate the outgoing community members and wish them well. The entire programme was coordinated by the FYBPh, SYBPh, and the FYMPh brothers.
The evening began with a solemn Thanksgiving Eucharist which was presided by Rev. Fr. Savio D’souza, the Rector of Divyadaan. The focus of the liturgy was on ‘living in the future based on what one has learnt at Divyadaan’. The celebrant preached on the importance of vocation and the aspects in which one follows it. He went on to mention that God knows what one has done and is sure to reward one in the life to come. He, thus, presented to all what the outgoing members had achieved and thanked them for sharing their lives with the community.
The Eucharist was followed by a short family circle in the lawns. Staff members from neighboring communities were also invited. The brothers from all the courses put up performances in music and songs. A farewell address was read to the outgoing members, after which Fr. Savio gave them a small memento as a remembrance of Divyadaan. The ening concluded with a fellowship meal. At the end of the evening, Cl. William on behalf of the outgoing members thanked the community for all the love and appreciation shown to them and assured the community that they would carry along with them ‘bags’ of memories of their stay wherever they would go.
Bidding farewell and saying goodbye was really a difficult task for many a person. The evening was filled with mixed emotions, of happiness yet sadness.
May the years spent at Divyadaan have a deep impression in the lives of its members!
