WADALA, JULY 9, 2011: On July 2, 2011 in a solemn and meaningful ceremony, during the Eucharistic Celebration at the Parish of Our Lady of Dolours Church, Wadala (E), Bishop Bosco inducted the new Parish Priest, Fr. Godfrey D’Sa. The Parish Team and several Salesians and Diocesan priests concelebrated at the Eucharist. Fr. Bernard Fernandes read out the letter of appointment from Cardinal Oswald Gracias, and then Bishop Bosco instructed Fr. Godfrey on the duties of the Parish Priest and asked him to lead the congregation in the Profession of Faith. Fr. Godfrey was then asked to incense the altar, lectern, tabernacle, baptistery and confessional that would be sacred places for him to exercise his ministry. Finally, Fr. Godfrey was introduced to his Parish Council and Heads of Associations and the parishioners present, as their Pastor and Guide. Bp. Bosco then led the singing of Congratulations to Fr. Godfrey as he acknowledged the wishes of the congregation and shared his vision for the parish.
Bp. Bosco Penha, the Priests and Salesian Sisters joined the Parish Team for a fellowship dinner later in the evening.
