BIS #2501 A MEANINGFUL REUNION AT DON BOSCO YOUTH SERVICES- MATUNGA

MATUNGA, AUGUST 9, 2011: I have very often been marvelled at the reunion of youngsters!  There is so much joy and excitement; so much to be shared, joy and laughter.  This again was my experience as the rains gave way to sunshine on this beautiful Sunday of August 7, 2011.
We had the reunions of our Youth Paschers (working youngsters) and College Youngsters in the morning and reunion of our Bosco Youth Group and Camp Boys in the evening.

The World Youth Day at Madrid, Spain, is almost upon us; hence we used this opportunity to make the youngsters aware of this meaningful gathering of Catholic Youngsters around the Holy Father at Spain. Further, the Relic of Don Bosco will be with us in the Shrine of Don Bosco Madonna, Matunga, from the August 13 to August 16, 2011. We have blocked time for youngsters to pray at the Relic, on August 15 from 4.00 pm – 6.00 pm.  We made our youngsters aware of the significance and importance of this event and how we could be a part of it.   We then prepared a meaningful program for the same.

Fr. Glenn Lowe, who had donated his kidney to his cousin priest Fr. Lloyd, shared his testimony of this experience. He invited the youngsters to be generous with their lives and talents- the best form of living is giving, “Live to give”.

Eucharist was then celebrated, which was followed by lunch and fellowship. This sharing has left a lasting impression on our youngsters.
