NERUL, AUGUST 22, 2011: The morning of August 15, 2011 witnessed the students of Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul abuzz with activity. The Sixty fifth Independence Day was celebrated by the Management, Staff and Students of Don Bosco Senior Secondary School with a wonderful programme performed by Std. I students. The Chief Guest, Rev. Abbot Rocky D'Souza, hoisted the flag with our little ones singing 'Jhanda Uncha Rahe Hamara' melodiously. The Chief Guest was then escorted to the Assembly Hall. Chota Bheem and Chutki, favourite cartoon characters, compared the programme.

The children beautifully performed the action song in Hindi. Andrew Fernandes kept the audience enraptured by his inspiring speech. The historical Dandi March through the eyes of nine year old Dhani was enacted through the skit in English 'Towards Freedom'. Dipti Lohar, then addressed the audience with her speech in Marathi.  Students tapped their feet in rhythm to a peppy dance - The Voice of India. The finale act had all the participants on stage while Sharon melodiously played Sare Jahan Se Acchha on the keyboard.

The Chief Guest then congratulated the participants on their wonderful performance.  He spoke a few words of encouragement to everyone present for the programme. He then planted a sapling as a mark of remembrance in keeping with our motto 'Vidya Ka Paudha - Hara Sarvada'.
